Where the rates come from
Rates come from the open-source Frankfurter exchange rate API, which aggregates daily reference rates published by more than 100 central banks and official institutions, including the European Central Bank. This site syncs every 6 hours, and the date of the rate used is shown above the result.
Why it differs from your bank's rate
These are mid-market reference rates without spreads or fees. Currency exchange, card payments and international transfers use each provider's own buy and sell rates, so the actual amount is whatever your bank or exchange service quotes.
