rar-to-zip/
Turn a RAR archive into a ZIP file. Works with RAR4 and RAR5, and also converts 7Z and TAR. Nothing is uploaded — files are extracted and zipped in your browser.

How to convert RAR to ZIP
- Choose or drop a .rar file. The page extracts it and lists the files inside.
- It is then packed into a ZIP with the same name as the archive.
- Click “Download ZIP” to save it.
Notes
- Supports RAR4 and RAR5 (the default since WinRAR 5), plus 7Z and TAR to ZIP.
- Folder structure is kept as is. The ZIP uses standard Deflate compression, so the built-in unzip tools on Windows and macOS can open it. Empty folders are not kept. “..” segments and leading “/” are removed from paths, so the ZIP can't extract outside its folder.
- Password-protected RAR files aren't supported: the extraction engine (libarchive) can't decrypt RAR. Unpack them with WinRAR or 7-Zip first.
- Multi-part archives (.part1.rar, .r00) aren't supported yet. Join them or extract with desktop software first.
- The archive and its extracted files are processed in browser memory, up to 500 MB. Very large files may run out of memory on phones.
- Files are processed only in your browser and never uploaded. The first conversion loads an extraction engine of about 1 MB.
FAQ
Why does it say “not a recognized archive”?
The file may just have been renamed, or the download may be incomplete. Try opening it with desktop software to check the file itself.
File names look garbled after converting?
RAR5 and newer RAR4 files store names in Unicode and convert fine. Very old RAR files may store non-English names in a system code page and show garbled text; re-compress them once with WinRAR.
